A game to play on a Discord or video call
When the group is already on a call, the hard part is getting everyone into the same game. Dinner is Ruined! runs in a browser, so one link is enough, and everyone can keep talking while they play.
Setting it up on a call
- One person opens the game and creates a lobby.
- They drop the invite link in the chat, or read out the lobby code.
- Everyone picks cats or humans, and the round starts.
Why it suits a call
The game has no chat of its own, because the call is the chat. Humans will be shouting about the cat on the stove, and cats will be plotting in plain hearing, and a round is short enough to fit in before anyone drifts off.
How many can join?
Up to 8, with up to 4 on each side. AI players fill any gaps, so it still works with two or three of you.
Does everyone need the same device?
No. Phones and computers can play in the same round, and nobody needs an account.
